For The Love of Shoes! Pin It It's come to my attention that I am collecting quite a few pairs of shoes. I never used to be into buying shoes. Well, okay, that isn't quite true. Before I was married I loved buying shoes and clothes, but then reality affected my life. I'm not quite sure when my shoe obsession returned, all I know is that it did. It first hit me when we were packing to go south for a winter holiday and I went downstairs to get my sandals out of storage. I was surprised to find I had seven pairs of sandals and I had quite a hard time picking which ones should come along. I love them all. My sweet husband encouraged me to take them all but I did show some restraint and only took four. ;) Last year I had a chance to go to the U.S. on a Black Friday shopping trip. Boots were on my list of needed items and I ended up coming home with three pairs. I hadn't intended on buying so many pairs, it just happened. Mind you each one serves a unique function. The Columbia pair, rated for -30 degree temperatures, are great for walking the dogs in the winter, the Nine West boots are dressy and the Sketcher's look great with jeans. What can I say? I couldn't resist them. Am I a shoeaholic? Probably. On my birthday family and friends gave me gift certificates to our local shoe store and thus the story continues. More shoes were bought. Frivolous high heels that make me smile every time I see them and wear them. As long as I'm confessing, my daughters love shoes too. Did they get it from me? I don't know. Perhaps one day scientists will find that the love of a good looking shoe is hereditary. I do know that whenever the girls are home we head over to the shoe store to see what's new. One of our daughters has a couple of totes full of shoes and I've been known to have quite the conversations via text over whether a pair of boots should be purchased or not. So there you have it, my little confession. How about you? Do you love shoes? Here's a fun little quiz to test your shoe smarts. |
